If you use the contact form
The form asks for your name, email address, and business name, and, if you choose, your website address and a message. When you send it, the details are emailed to me so I can reply. This website doesn’t keep a copy in a database.
Your message stays in my email so I can reply and keep track of the conversation. If you’d like it deleted, email me and I’ll delete it.
If you email me
Emails to chris@tawkee.com arrive in my business email account, which Google hosts. I use your email address to reply and to work with you on your website, and for nothing else.
If I contacted you first
I find small businesses through public directories and their own websites. I keep the business name, its public contact details and website address, and the emails I send and receive, so I can follow up and don’t contact you twice.
A homepage preview I make for you uses content from your public website or business pages. Its address isn’t listed publicly, and search engines are asked not to index it. Ask me to stop, and I won’t contact you again.
Visit statistics
I use Plausible Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read. It doesn’t use cookies, doesn’t collect personal information, and doesn’t follow you across other websites.
The website also notes whether the contact form was viewed, started, or sent, so I can tell whether it works. It never records what you typed.
Technical details
To stop spam, the contact form briefly uses your IP address to limit how many messages one connection can send. The website is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes each visit in order to deliver and protect the site.
This website doesn’t set its own cookies, and its fonts are served from tawkee.com rather than from another company.
Who handles your information
I don’t sell your information, and I don’t share it for advertising. Each of these services handles it only to do its part:
- Amazon Web Services delivers contact form messages to my inbox.
- Google hosts my email.
- Cloudflare hosts the website.
- Plausible Analytics counts visits.
Your choices
Email chris@tawkee.com to ask what I hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. If you become a customer, I also keep what I need to run your website and to keep proper business records.
Changes to this page
If the way I handle information changes, I’ll update this page and the date at the top.
